The hoop is crafted from gold filled metal with brass used for the spike. The spike is coated with enamel to prevent tarnishing.
To properly insert the earring, first twist the hoop open if your earlobe is too large to fit through the gap. Once the earring is securely on your earlobe, twist the hoop back into place and insert the spike.
